Elite Jürgen Klopp’s arsenal of weapons at Liverpool has just returned, and he even defeats Mo Salah and Harry Kane.

Liverpool defeated Fulham thanks to a goal from Diogo Jota, his first since returning from injury.

He is the Premier League’s expert at scoring in crucial situations.

On Sunday, Liverpool defeated Fulham 3-1 in a rather easy manner—something that has become all too uncommon these days.

The Reds defeated Sheffield United 3-1; don’t mind the stoppage time; it was the first time in seven Premier League games that the Reds had led by two goals.

We’ll never know for sure, but it’s possible that if Liverpool had been able to win more games more easily this season, the team might have had less injuries.

Jürgen Klopp would have loved to witness more of the almost non-eventful final 24 minutes of the victory at Craven Cottage in 2023–2024.

Diogo Jota, who scored his 100th goal in English football, clinched the victory. The Portuguese forward is unmatched when it comes to big goals and finishing games.

Jota’s Premier League goal total is surpassed by only nine players in the four seasons since he transferred from Wolves to Liverpool.

If we take away penalty kicks and adjust for time played, the only player who has scored more non-penalty goals than Jota is Erling Haaland, with 0.82 goals per 90 minutes compared to 0.64 for Jota.

He leaves Mohamed Salah (0.50) and Harry Kane (0.53) lagging behind.

Clearly, this creates another “what might have been” scenario for this season.

Jota hasn’t played in any of Liverpool’s 33 league games, and the team has lost 11 of them.

Though unlucky, his stupid red card against Tottenham may have cost the Reds a point, that was a replacement match.

Jota has only started and Liverpool lost against Chelsea, Luton, Manchester City, and Arsenal—all away games—while only playing the entire game at the Emirates.

The 27-year-old’s knack for scoring significant goals is practically making him a meme.

Liverpool fans don’t need to be reminded that Jota scores goals at crucial moments, according to Liverpool.

But these results really drive home the point and demonstrate that when it counts most, even the haughty Salah cannot match the Portuguese international.

It’s unfortunate that Jota lacks the Egyptian’s extraordinary capacity for harm avoidance.
