Ryan Gravenberch: My first Premier League goal has made me very happy.
Ryan Gravenberch expressed his happiness at scoring his first Premier League goal as Liverpool defeated Fulham 3-1 on Sunday.
At Craven Cottage, the Dutchman’s incredible goal in the second half gave Jürgen Klopp’s team a commanding lead.
Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota were also on target for the Reds.
With a feed from Harvey Elliott and a curling shot past Bernd Leno from 20 yards out, Gravenberch’s 2-1 goal was the ideal way to start his league career for the team.
Following the game, Gravenberch spoke with Liverpoolfc.com, saying, “I remember getting the ball from Harvey and knowing right away that I wanted to shoot.”
“It was nice to see it go in, I’m very happy with my first Premier League goal.”
Gravenberch continued, “For us it was important because we are out of Europe and we had to to get confidence again.”
The victory pulled Liverpool equal on points with Arsenal at the top of the Premier League standings.
“So we won today and that gives us that extra boost.”
Liverpool’s next major match is a Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday at Goodison Park.
