Arne Slot, the manager of Feyenoord, is now a strong candidate to succeed Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Furthermore, the Dutchman has already expressed his opinions about the Reds and the German’s work.

Slot was considered a potential possibility for the Reds when Klopp announced his exit from Liverpool at the end of January.

When questioned directly about the Liverpool position, he responded in an intriguing way.

“What answer can I give that there will be no headlines about it?” inquired the man.

“So next question!” Slot, however, also shared his opinions about Klopp during the same press conference.

According to Slot, via Voetbal Primeur, “I think it is incredibly impressive that he has been so good at that level for so long, with so much energy for nine years.”

“I see it as a special achievement that you can maintain that level for nine years with so much dedication and passion — especially when you consider how many games we play, let alone how many they play in England.”

Slot has already expressed a wish to leave the Netherlands and challenge himself in a different league abroad.

For him, the Premier League is the best option, even though he turned down Spurs last summer.

According to Slot, “My next step will not be a club in Holland,” as reported by Sky Sports in May 2023. “I’ve failed miserably if that’s what I’m supposed to do next.

The next logical step would be to travel overseas, because the Premier League is, in my opinion, the greatest league in the world.”

According to Liverpool, Slot’s play style and Klopp’s approach to setting up Liverpool are similar, which is likely why the Reds have himhighly on their shortlist.

Ultimately, why would you want to pursue a totally new course of action when A) current system functions and B) you already have the players to succeed like that?
