Following an altercation with Jürgen Klopp, Jordan Henderson’s candid revelation regarding Mohamed Salah says volumes.

An interview between Jordan Henderson and a former Premier League colleague on Mohamed Salah’s mindset at Liverpool captures the essence of the great player behind the scenes.

The remarks made by Jordan Henderson on Mohamed Salah’s demeanour behind the scenes have been disclosed by former Premier League striker Darren Bent.

During the match against West Ham United, the forward for Liverpool got into an argument with manager Jürgen Klopp on the sidelines.

Last Saturday, Liverpool’s hopes of getting back into the running for the Premier League title were dashed. The Reds’ tedious encounter with West Ham ended in a 2-2 tie, following Michael Antonio’s header in the 77th minute to square the score.

After dropping points against Crystal Palace, Everton, and Manchester United in recent weeks, Klopp’s club is now five points behind leaders Arsenal in third place in the English Premier League.

There are now many unresolved issues inside the team, none more so than the altercation between Klopp and Salah at the London Stadium.

Shortly after West Ham’s equaliser, the Egyptian forward—who had been limited to a bench position for the second time in three games—came on. Salah and Klopp were spotted bickering on the touchline after the goal was scored.

Following the outcome, Salah declined to discuss the situation with the media. He warned that if he talked, there would be “fire” in the mixed zone.

TalkSPORT broadcasters Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent then discussed the matter, with the former casting doubt on Salah’s approach. Goldstein countered, “You don’t know the conversations Klopp’s had with Salah this week.”

“He could have arrived at training twenty minutes late, but he didn’t even apologise to the gaffer.” I’m not claiming that he has at all.”

Bent, however, disagreed and disclosed the information Henderson had given him regarding the Liverpool striker. Bent responded, “I’ve never heard that.”

Hendo is my mate, as you are aware. He’s talked about Salah previously, calling him the most professional person you’ll ever meet. He expresses frustration that Salah isn’t playing. Even on a terrible day, I would still choose Salah.

What people who have worked with the Egyptian superstar know about his character is summed up by Henderson’s comments in private to Bent about Salah’s mentality.

Even though the altercation with Klopp was an unfavourable flashpoint, Salah has offered and still gives Liverpool far more than that.

According to Liverpool.com, Salah showed no signs of discomfort and the problem seemed to be a non-starter. Since then, rumours have surfaced indicating that the club anticipates the 31-year-old to stay through the summer, even in light of his connections to the Saudi Pro League.
