Joking about Mohamed Salah’s connection with Jürgen Klopp follows a Liverpool touchline altercation
Mohamed Salah and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp had an argument during the team’s most recent tie with West Ham. The Egyptian seemed incensed over something his supervisor had said.
As he gets ready to leave Anfield, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp can now laugh at the irony of his altercation with Mohamed Salah on the touchline.
Following Sunday’s season-ending game against Wolves, Klopp will say goodbye to Liverpool. Sadly, with Manchester City and Arsenal emerging victorious following the Reds’ wobbly finish to the season, there won’t be a Premier League crown up for grabs. With just two wins in their previous seven games, Klopp’s team will come in third in the standings.
After the match, a furious Salah told the media that he would not stop and that if he spoke, “there will be fire.” After the game, Klopp emphasised that the situation was resolved and added Salah back to the starting lineup for the victory over Tottenham.
After seeing a farewell video from a few of his present and former players, Klopp made the joke that Salah’s message had to have been taped prior to the altercation on the touchline.
He said to The Anfield Wrap, “I was shown a video featuring all of my former players talking about me.” Thus, it was Virgil [Van Dijk], Trent [Alexander-Arnold], Millie [James Milner], Adam [Lallana], and Mo—possibly before to West Ham! It was really good. I take pride in fostering these kinds of connections.”
Salah’s future is still unknown, but Klopp will undoubtedly depart this summer. His present contract only lasts one year, and Saudi Pro League teams are anticipated to pique their interest once more this summer.
The Athletic, however, claims that Liverpool is getting ready to begin the season with the Egyptian. Additionally, Klopp saved some of the younger players he has collaborated with in previous seasons for special mention.
“I would love to be around to do that; it is amazing how good they are,” he continued. “I’ll watch and keep up with it. As long as they have me on their roster, I’m satisfied and I will give them a call—I would really love to.”
The incident at West Ham is nothing to worry about for Klopp and Salah, who have been instrumental in Liverpool’s recent success, according to Liverpool. In addition to becoming one of Klopp’s greatest players, the Egyptian has made significant career advancements for the German. These two are legends from Liverpool.
