“How much of that can you relate to?!?”: Victoria Azarenka and Danielle Collins engage in amusing back-and-forth on social media.
Danielle Collins from the United States and Victoria Azarenka from Belarus had a lively conversation on social media.
The two athletes recently competed in the current WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid, the capital of Spain, but were unable to go far in the competition.
Azarenka uploaded a photo to her official Instagram account along with the apology, saying, “I hope my common sense didn’t offend you.” Collins responded to that by writing: “2nd post.” Afterwards, Azarenka wrote her back, asking, “How much can you relate to that?!?!”
It is unclear to what extent the players were alluding, but regardless of the context, it was enjoyable to witness two world-class athletes joking about on social media.
Azarenka’s performance at the Madrid Open was rather disappointing as she was eliminated in the round of 32 after falling to Sara Sorribes Tormo of Spain 7-6, 6-0 in straight sets.
However, Collins’ run was cut short in the round of 16, as she lost to Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, the current world number two, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Collins entered the tournament in scorching form, having won the Miami Open and the Charleston Open.
