Super middleweight Joeshon James will have to wait even longer
for his bout against undefeated Lester Martinez after their fight was postponed once again due to illness.
The Martinez-James matchup was originally scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. However, it is now tentatively set for March 22 as part of a ProBox TV event in San Bernardino, California.
James, a 26-year-old from Sacramento, California, was previously set to face Martinez on September 11. Although both fighters made weight, Martinez, 29, had to withdraw on the day of the fight due to illness.
James, with a record of 9-0-2 (5 KOs), has fought only once in 2024, securing a unanimous decision victory over Vaughn Alexander in February. Had the fight taken place, it would have ended nearly a year-long hiatus for him.
Guatemala’s Martinez, boasting an 18-0 (15 KOs) record, has stepped into the ring twice in 2024. His most recent victory came in June when he defeated veteran contender Carlos Gongora by unanimous decision
